Dental Typodont Practice Model

Multi-functional Student Oral Surgical Model.

A soft red gingival layer allows the student to practice incision and suture.

The dental typodont practice model with an articulator is attachable, both the mandible and the maxillar base have a magnet base, allowing magnetically attaching to the manikin simulation head.

Training purpose: Apicoectomy (maxillary right central incisor), Normal tooth extraction (mandibular left), Impacted tooth extraction (mandibular right), Pus removal (incision), Torus removal (buccal side of the maxillary left and right molar).

Oral surgery training model for Dental Students

The dental typodont practice model is designed to provide a realistic oral surgery experience for the student. It can help dental students practice and hone their skills with a lifelike model before they are put into the real operating room.

oral surgery training purpose for dental student

1. Preparation:
Before starting the practice session, ensure the model is clean and free from any debris. Lay out all the instruments and materials that you will need for the task.

2. Apicoectomy:
Start by making an incision near the apex of the tooth to access the root. Make sure to use gentle, controlled movements so as not to damage the soft tissue. Remove any infected tissue, if present, and use a dental bur to access the root.

3. Normal Tooth Extraction:
Position the dental forceps and use gentle but firm pressure to rock the tooth back and forth and loosen it from the socket. Once the tooth is loose, carefully remove it from the mouth.

4. Impacted Tooth Extraction:
Using the dental bur, drill into the bone surrounding the tooth. Make sure to use gentle, controlled movements to avoid damaging the surrounding tissue. Once the bone is drilled away, use the forceps to carefully remove the impacted tooth.

5. Pus Removal (Incision):
Using a scalpel, make a small incision near the area of pus buildup. Make sure to use gentle, controlled movements to avoid damaging the surrounding tissue. Once the incision is made, gently remove the pus and any debris from the area.

6. Torus Removal:
Using a dental bur, drill into the bone surrounding the torus. Make sure to use gentle, controlled movements to avoid damaging the surrounding tissue. Once the bone is drilled away, use the forceps to carefully remove the torus from the mouth.

The dental typodont practice model base has a magnet plate, so they can be placed the maxilla and mandible into the manikin simulator head for pre-clinical training.
