Eco-Etch: 37% Phosphoric Acid Etching Gel for Dental Procedures
Eco-Etch is a phosphoric acid etching gel used for tooth enamel and dentin preparation in dental procedures. It contains 37% phosphoric acid, silica dioxide as a thickening agent, and coloring agents. This product is designed for use in various dental restorative procedures involving composite resins, sealants, and adhesive systems.
Application in dentistry:
Eco-Etch is used for etching tooth enamel and dentin prior to applying dental composites, sealants, or adhesives. It’s suitable for use with composite restorations, resin or all-ceramic inlays/onlays, veneers, crowns, bridges, and various adhesive procedures.
Operating:
- Apply Eco-Etch to the enamel surface for 15 seconds, then to dentin for a total reaction time not exceeding 30 seconds.
- Rinse thoroughly with water spray and dry with oil-free compressed air.
- The etched enamel surface should appear chalky white; if not, re-etch with shortened reaction time.
If contaminated, re-etch for a maximum of 10 seconds. - For untreated enamel (e.g., sealants), etching time should be 30-60 seconds.
- For partial enamel etching, Eco-Etch reaction time should be 15-30 seconds.
